Transforming Brett's lawn

As a homeowner in Happy Valley, South Australia, Brett was looking for a solution for his backyard. The natural lawn that once served as a relaxing space for the kids had turned into a patchy, high-maintenance challenge. Brett’s backyard had its fair share of challenges. The lawn was uneven and didn’t drain well, leading to puddles after rain. There were also a few mature trees, which added to the maintenance with falling leaves and uneven sunlight. The installation process:

1. Site preparation: The first step was to thoroughly prepare the site. The team assessed the lawn, identifying trouble spots like areas with poor drainage. They then removed the existing grass and excavated the soil to the right depth, setting the stage for a perfect installation.
2. Creating a solid base: To ensure a smooth and stable surface, a layer of dolomite was spread across the area. This base was carefully compacted to make it firm and level, which is key to avoiding future issues with uneven ground or water pooling.
3. Laying the Artificial Grass: Next, the Artificial Grass was rolled out and carefully trimmed to fit the space perfectly, including around the retaining wall. The edges were secured to keep the grass firmly in place, ensuring a seamless finish.
4. Applying sand infill: A layer of sand infill was then added to help the grass blades stand upright and feel more natural underfoot. The infill also adds weight, keeping the grass securely in place over time.
5. Final touches: To finish, the team brushed the grass to make sure all the blades were standing upright and evenly distributed. This gave the lawn a polished, natural look, making it almost indistinguishable from real grass.
