Staff at Australian Outdoor Living offices around the country banded together this week to participate in Clean Up Australia Day.
Employees from Australian Outdoor Living picked up rubbish in the suburbs around their offices, with most taking time out of their lunch break to do so.
National Marketing Manager Alex McConville said it was inspiring to watch his team brave the 38 degree heat for a good cause.
“It was great to see everyone roll up their sleeves and get to work,” he said.
“It was obviously pretty warm in Adelaide that day, but that didn’t stop them from putting on the gloves and grabbing a bag.”
Queensland Office Manager Michelle Arthur said her team was more than happy to get out of the office and do their bit.
“We were even lucky enough to have the CEO, Chris Taylor in our branch – he came along to assist and to ensure we all stayed safe,” she said.
Mr McConville said he and his team felt obligated to do their part to help clean up the country.
“I think everyone needs to chip in a bit, we’ve only got one planet and it’s our duty to keep it clean,” he said.
According to Clean Up Australia, Australia has picked up an estimated 350,000 ute loads of rubbish since the event’s inception 29 years ago.
2019 is set to be the biggest year yet for Clean Up Australia, with more volunteers signing up than ever before.
