What’s the best way to improve your home insulation?
With summer in full swing, we’re all looking for home insulation methods to keep our home cool. We’ve come up with some great ways to do that that don’t include the air conditioner!
Home insulation: seal drafty doorways
A great way insulate your home is by sealing those pesky spots where hot air gets in.
You can use rubber weatherstripping from any hardware store to seal these spaces. If the space is too big, you can double up – no problem!
Insulate your home with roller shutters
Installing roller shutters on your windows will insulate your home and save you money on heating and cooling.
Our roller shutters boast the thickest aluminium on the market, meaning they’ll make it much easier to regulate the temperature in your home.
High quality shutters will help keep your home cool in summer and warm in winter, taking some of the stress off your heating and cooling appliances.
Since your appliances won’t have to work as hard, you’ll see a significant reduction in the cost of your power bills.
Keep your curtains shut for home insulation
One of the best (and cheapest) ways to insulate your home is by closing the curtains during the day.
Keeping your rooms dark will reduce the amount of heat that enters in through the windows. This method is only effective if your curtains work to block out the sun. If they’re not opaque, it won’t work.
Repaint your walls
Believe it or not, painting your walls white can have a cooling effect on your house! Crack open that paint can and get painting.
