What are automated outdoor blinds?
Smart home integration
Automated blinds, installed on your patio or pergola and connected to your mains power, offer the same shade and weather protection as manual or electric outdoor blinds, with the added benefit of smart home integration. This allows you to control your blinds via Google Home or Alexa and manage them remotely through an app on your iPhone or Android phone. Many clients use the app to protect their outdoor space from incoming rain while they’re away from home.
Automated blinds 'scenes' or settings
For convenience, automated blinds come with programmable 'scenes' that let you set and adjust the positioning of your blinds. For example, if your outdoor area experiences intense afternoon sun around 4pm, you can program your blinds to automatically lower at that time.
How much do automated outdoor blinds cost?
Several factors influence the cost of automated blinds, making it challenging to provide a precise quote over the phone or online. Here are the three main factors affecting the price:
1. Size and quantity of blinds
The size of your outdoor blinds and the number you need are major factors in determining the cost. If your outdoor area exceeds the maximum blind width or your pergola has multiple support posts, you may require multiple blinds. We manufacture blinds up to five meters wide and three meters tall.
2. Site Preparation
The preparation required for your site also impacts the final cost. Installers may need to remove old blinds or add support beams to your pergola framework, which extends their onsite time and adds to the installation cost. This varies depending on each job but ensures a hassle-free installation process.
3. Other Factors
Generally, fabric choice doesn’t affect the final cost, as the price is standard across both our Bella Vista and Bella Opaque materials.
Final Cost
In summary, the cost of automated blinds is determined by the size of your space, the number of blinds needed, and the amount of site preparation required. For an accurate quote, we offer a free service where one of our Design Consultants will visit your home, inspect the area, measure the space, and discuss blind options with you. They also will be able to address any questions you may have.
